The official start of Autumn this week has signalled the start of a period of opportunity for Victorian homebuyers and sellers.
What many people are unaware of is that historically speaking, there are actually more property sales in Australia that occur in Autumn than there are in Spring. When you consider the favourable weather conditions in Melbourne at this time of year, it’s not hard to see why, particularly when you realise that the two wettest months of the year in our part of Australia are September and October.
When you add in the fact that a number of market analysts are saying that property prices appear to be levelling out in recent months, it seems likely that we will see more stable conditions in our local market over the next few months, which is good news for buyers and sellers alike.
So what does that mean for anyone considering selling this Autumn? One important point to remember is that no matter what time of year it is, you want your property to look its best in comparison to other aspiring sellers. So make sure your garden has some Autumn colour, and your home looks light and bright as the days get shorter.
